I have seen so many times the person who wants to get into their splits or any other move/trick that demands a certain range of motion in the body so badly that they do practice at home, which is amazing, but they are the power of mobility work and just focus on the stretching
When people just focus on the stretching and the body is not ready, the opposite of what we want can happen, the body will try to protect itself and retract back from something is not ready to do, and often these people feel like they're losing progress instead of gaining it
